These fried ripened plantain slices are customary in most typical meals In Honduras, Venezuela and Central Colombia. They make a great takeaway food with fried chicken. In Nicaragua, tajadas are traditionally served with fried pork.

These fried ripened plantain slices are customary in most typical meals In Honduras, Venezuela and Central Colombia. They make a great takeaway food with fried chicken. In Nicaragua, tajadas are traditionally served with fried pork.

Ingredients:



3 ripe plantains (yellow)
Oil for frying
1 teaspoon brown sugar

Instructions:

Peel plantains and cut in half. Then slice in strips lengthwise.

Heat oil. Fry strips in hot oil a few at a time, turning occasionally until nicely browned.

When taken out of the oil, sprinkle with brown sugar. Serve hot.
