A taste of BBQ chicken that can be enjoyed at any time, at dinner or lunch. Once cooked, you can shred the chicken to make a sandwich or to add to a salad.

Baked BBQ Chicken


5 or 6 oz chicken pieces (thighs, breast, back)
1 large onion, coarsely chopped
½ cup diced celery
¼ cup water
½ teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon black pepper
¾ cup ketchup
¼ cup honey
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
1 tablespoon cider vinegar


Preheat oven to 350 F.

Put chicken pieces in a large baking dish. Place onions and celery around chicken pieces. Add water and dust with pepper and salt. Cover with aluminum foil.

Bake in oven for 20 to 25 minutes.

In a bowl combine ketchup, honey, Worcestershire sauce, mustard and the vinegar. Pour over chicken and bake for an additional 30 minutes.
