In Puerto Rico, piononos are appetizers usually served during parties who bring an element of sweet and salty.

Ingredients:



4 plantains, ripe (yellow)
1/2 lb ground beef
1/2 lb ground pork
1 onion, diced
1 shallots finely chopped
1 egg beaten
Salt
Pepper
Thyme
nutmeg

Instructions:

Season the meat with spices: salt, pepper, thyme, nutmeg. Add onion, shallot and egg. Mix well. Brown in a little oil and fry over medium heat. Reserve this stuffing.

Cut plantains into slices. Fry in oil until they are golden on each side. Remove from skillet and arrange on a plate.

Place a tablespoon of filling on each slice of plantain and roll. Prick with a toothpick to hold.
